IT GIRL ANTHROPOLOGY | PIA MANCE
Pia Mance knows the value of a good accessory. The Australian born, Los Angeles based founder of Heaven Mayhem has built a wardrobe around vintage leather, relaxed tailoring, oversized silhouettes and an impressive collection of statement earrings.
Her personal style is developed in collaboration with Australian stylist Georgina Downe, with the pair working through quarterly wardrobe edits, vintage designer archives and seasonal fittings. The process is considered but the result feels personal, with familiar pieces regularly reworked alongside new additions.
Away from her wardrobe, Mance has an equally keen interest in art, architecture and interiors. Her travels have introduced her to a wide range of design influences, while recent years have brought considerable changes to her personal life, including the arrival of her first child.
PERSONAL STYLE
Mance has previously described her style as timeless, elevated and statement. Her wardrobe brings together contemporary designers and vintage finds, with labels including Magda Butrym, Peter Petrov and Camilla and Marc among her favourites.
She has cited Elsa Hosk, Hailey Bieber, Laura Harrier and Rosie Huntington Whiteley as fashion references, particularly for their approach to everyday dressing. Although she shares their appreciation for tailoring and versatile basics, Mance is also comfortable experimenting with colour, animal print and more exaggerated proportions.
Her collaboration with Downe has encouraged that experimentation. The pair approach each season with an emphasis on making the most of existing pieces, while introducing new designers and exploring combinations that might otherwise have been overlooked.
It's an approach that reflects a broader change in how personal style is discussed. The emphasis has shifted from accumulating new clothes to understanding how individual pieces work together, with vintage shopping and wardrobe editing becoming increasingly prominent parts of the conversation.
For Mance, jewellery has been a particularly consistent interest. She founded Heaven Mayhem in 2022, drawing on her appreciation for older designs to create a contemporary accessories label. The business has since developed alongside her public profile, with her own wardrobe providing a natural setting for its pieces.
BEAUTY AND WELLNESS
Mance tends to favour understated beauty looks, often wearing natural makeup and softly styled hair. Her approach provides a contrast to the more expressive elements of her wardrobe, particularly when wearing statement jewellery or stronger silhouettes.
Her interest in beauty also extends to wellness. During pregnancy, she spoke with Par Olive about becoming more conscious of her supplement routine and reconsidering the products she was using.
She has also discussed the importance of sleep, movement and maintaining everyday habits that support her wellbeing. With the demands of running a business and preparing for motherhood, these routines became an important consideration in how she organised her time.
While Mance has shared relatively little about the individual skincare and makeup products she uses, her conversations about wellness offer some insight into how her priorities have changed over time.
ART, INTERIORS AND TRAVEL
Mance's appreciation for art and design began at home. Her father is an artist, while her mother maintained a collection of clothing that she cared for over many years. Family visits to galleries and historical landmarks introduced Mance to different periods of art, architecture and design.
That curiosity has continued into adulthood. In an interview with Window Seat, Mance discussed the smaller details she notices while travelling, including door handles, coat hooks, pavement tiles and window arches.

Her interest in these details is reflected in the way she approaches interiors. Rather than focusing exclusively on furniture or larger decorative pieces, she pays attention to the materials, finishes and architectural elements that give a space its character.
Italy and Japan are among the destinations she has spoken about admiring. She has also recalled a stay at Castello di Reschio in Tuscany, where the interiors and attention to detail made a lasting impression.
When asked to imagine a hotel of her own, Mance described a space furnished with wooden accents, silver trays, animal print and carefully selected books. It's a combination that suggests an appreciation for interiors with a little personality, rather than rooms designed around a single aesthetic.
Her interest in vintage objects also has a personal connection. Mance has spoken about jewellery worn by her mother and grandmother, and the influence of older pieces on her understanding of design.
MOTHERHOOD AND PERSONAL IDENTITY
Originally from Australia, Mance studied at RMIT in Melbourne before spending time in London and eventually settling in Los Angeles with her husband, Cody.
In 2026, the couple welcomed their first child, a son.
During her pregnancy, Mance appeared on Nicole Trunfio's The Village podcast to discuss her expectations of motherhood, the importance of friendships and her plans to continue working after becoming a parent.
She spoke about wanting to maintain her personal identity and creative interests while adapting to family life, a consideration that has become increasingly relevant as more women openly discuss the relationship between motherhood and their careers.
For Mance, that includes continuing to develop Heaven Mayhem while making room for the routines and relationships that matter to her outside work.
For someone whose career has grown out of a personal appreciation for fashion and design, Mance has managed to make her interests a central part of both her work and everyday life. Her wardrobe may be what first attracts attention, but it's the broader collection of influences, from family heirlooms to the places she's travelled, that gives a better understanding of her taste. And with motherhood now part of the picture, there's another side of Pia Mance to get to know.
With love (and frankness),
Bea x
