A BRIEF HISTORY OF MY CURRENT TWEED OBSESSION
I was spending my Sunday evening as most of us girls do doom scrolling my Pinterest feed, when I came across a tweed jacket that immediately stopped me. It was one of the saves that quickly becomes ten. A cropped jacket led to an old Chanel suit, which led to Claudia Schiffer on a runway in the 90s and I quickly realised I knew exactly what tweed looked like without knowing all that much about where it actually came from.

SHOP LIKE: AVA FRANCIS
Ava Francis has become a regular in our saved folder, and for good reason. Her wardrobe moves easily between feminine, pared back lace and sheer fabrics with denim, tailoring with tiny tanks, capris and ballet flats, with plenty of colour and print mixed in. When we’re looking for styling inspiration, her page is one we come back to. For the first edition of SHOP LIKE, we’ve pulled together some of our favourite looks and the pieces to recreate them.

IT GIRL ANTHROPOLOGY: FARRON CLARK
If your TikTok algorithm has even the slightest interest in fashion or marketing, there’s a good chance Farron Clark has appeared on it this year. Probably in a blazer, hair slicked back, talking to the camera about an outfit, a campaign she’s been thinking about or why getting dressed properly might actually change the course of your day. Farron only became a full time content creator in January. Since then, she’s been named ASOS’s Marketing Insider for 2026 and as of this w

BRAND DEEP DIVE — KAT THE LABEL
In April 2023, Kate Nixon was on her honeymoon in Thailand when she opened an email titled "KYLIE." Inside was a link to Kylie Jenner's Coachella post, wearing Kat The Label's Frankie Underwire in white. Nixon had gifted the piece months earlier and hadn't heard anything back since. By that point she'd been running the label for eight years. Nixon started sewing at 15, altering her own clothes on a toy sewing machine because nothing off the rack fit her properly, then teachin

IS YOOTOPIA ABOUT TO CHANGE THE WAY WE SHOP ONLINE?
That frustration is part of what Australian founders Eri Stewart and Lucy Hosken are trying to solve with Yootopia, a new AI powered fashion discovery platform currently preparing to launch. Their premise is less about giving an algorithm even more control over what you buy and more about allowing you to build your own fashion universe in the first place.

MEET THE AUSTRALIAN FOUNDERS BEHIND SO TOPICAL
Launching a beauty brand in 2026 is one thing. Launching one people genuinely haven't seen before is another. That's what first drew me to So Topical. The Australian beauty brand was founded by Sophie and Francesca "Cesy", who met while working together at Seoul Tonic. Sophie was scaling the wellness brand, while Cesy was leading its social and marketing strategy. After years spent building someone else's business, the pair began asking themselves a simple question: if they w

WHY I ALWAYS COME BACK TO LIVED IN BLONDE
I've been colouring my hair since I was 14. Like a lot of girls, it started with babylights. Then came the brighter appointments, the toner, the face framing pieces, the endless Pinterest boards of blondes that looked effortless but definitely weren't. Somewhere along the way, my hair became part of my identity. I'd always been blonde, just different versions of it. Over the past year, though, I started wondering if it was time for a change. The internet was full of rich brun

FORGET COLOUR THEORY, THESE ARE THE COLOUR COMBOS THE FASHION GIRLS ARE LOVING
Fashion's relationship with colour has shifted. Instead of relying on tonal dressing or predictable monochrome, designers and street style stars are embracing combinations that feel slightly offbeat on paper but completely right in practice. Burgundy meets pistachio, powder blue softens bubblegum pink, and rich olive becomes the new neutral. The result is colour that's less intimidating and far more wearable proof that the best outfits don't always follow the colour wheel. Bu

OUR FAVOURITE STREET STYLE FROM COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK SS27
While the runways set the agenda, Copenhagen's street style deserves just as much attention. This season, attendees embraced sculptural accessories, playful proportions and that effortless mix of practicality and polish the city has become known for. Here are the looks we haven't stopped thinking about. The best street style always leaves you wanting to get dressed, not go shopping. Copenhagen continues to do exactly that, reminding us that the most memorable outfits aren't b

HELLO CAP TOES!
Cap toes never actually left. Chanel's own flats and slingbacks have quietly kept the shape alive for years, worn by people who never thought of it as a "trend," just a wardrobe basic that always worked. What's changing right now isn't that cap toes are coming back. It's that they're about to stop being a classic and start being the shoe, and the shift traces to one very specific runway moment. Matthieu Blazy's debut for Chanel back in October leaned hard into the house's arc

ITS TIME TO PUT THE BLOWOUT DOWN (SOMETIMES)
I love a good blowout as much as anyone, but lately I've found myself reaching for my straightener a lot more. Not because I'm straightening my hair, but because I think the waves it creates look so much better than a perfectly polished curl. For a while it felt like every hairstyle had to look freshly done. Big bouncy blowouts, perfectly uniform curls and not a strand out of place. Now, I keep noticing hair that feels a little more relaxed. It's softer, slightly messy and ha

THE BEST FAKE TANS FOR A NATURAL GLOW, YEAR ROUND.
Whether you're after a subtle glow or a deep bronze, fake tan has come a long way from the streaky formulas most of us remember. The biggest difference now isn't finding a good tan, it's finding the right one for your routine. Some people swear by face drops they can mix into their skincare, others want a mousse that develops overnight, while gradual lotions are perfect if you'd rather build colour slowly than commit to a full tanning session. Here's where I'd start. Face Tan

YOU CANT CONVINCE ME SHOULDER PADS AREN'T CHIC!
Every few months, fashion decides shoulder pads are back. The headlines start rolling in, designers send a few strong shouldered blazers down the runway and suddenly we're all acting like we've uncovered some forgotten styling trick from the '80s. The oversized versions might disappear for a season or two, but shoulder pads themselves never actually go anywhere. Open the lining of almost any well made blazer and you'll find some level of structure built into the shoulder. The

ZIMMERMAN'S FALL 2026 COLLECTION IS A LOVE LETTER TO AUSTRALIA'S TRAILBLAZING WOMEN
Zimmermann's Fall 2026 collection, Trailblazer, wasn't inspired by a decade or a destination, but by a group of Australian women who quietly rewrote the rules long before anyone thought to call them trailblazers. Nicky Zimmermann looked to author Miles Franklin, whose refusal to write the stories expected of her helped shape Australian literature, alongside Kathleen Howell and Jean Robertson, who drove across Australia in the 1920s at a time when the country barely had roads

EYE MAXXING: A TIMELINE OF CHASING BIGGER EYES
At its simplest, eye maxxing is the idea of making your eyes appear larger, brighter or more striking. On TikTok, that can mean everything from lash serums and brown eyeliner to canthal tilt discussions, circle lenses and even surgery. The name is new. The pursuit isn't.

WHY "SUPERMODEL" DOESNT MEAN WHAT IT USED TO
Today, almost anyone with a successful modelling career gets called a "supermodel." But there was a time when that title belonged to a remarkably small group of women, and it changed fashion forever.
